SaaS Product Development
Multi-tenant SaaS platforms with subscriptions, onboarding and metering built in — engineered to survive your first thousand customers.
Overview
Building a SaaS product is a very different exercise from building software for one client. You are designing for tenants you have not met yet, on plans you have not priced yet, at a scale you cannot predict. Decisions made in the first month about tenancy, billing and data isolation are the ones that either quietly enable growth or force an expensive rewrite in year two.
We have built and operate our own SaaS products — Seven HRMS and Seven Inventory among them — so this is not theoretical for us. We know what happens when a customer asks for a data export at month eighteen, when a failed card payment needs a three-attempt dunning sequence, and when one enterprise tenant's reporting query starts affecting everyone else's response times.
What we build into every SaaS platform
Multi-tenancy with real isolation, subscription billing with trials and proration, self-serve onboarding, role management inside each tenant, an internal admin console with safe impersonation and audit logging, and usage metering tied to plan limits. On the infrastructure side: containerised deploys, automated database backups per tenant, queue workers for anything slow, and dashboards that tell you about a problem before your customers do.
Just as important is what we leave out. The fastest route to a viable product is a ruthlessly scoped first release aimed at one clear segment. We run a positioning workshop before design to agree on that segment, the one workflow you will be better at than anyone else, and the metric that proves it is working.
After launch we work against real numbers — activation rate, time to first value, trial-to-paid conversion, net revenue retention — and iterate the product on evidence rather than the loudest request in the inbox.
